The Health Insurance Association of America describes Medicaid as a government insurance program for individuals of all ages whose income and resources are insufficient to pay for health care. Medicaid is the largest source of funding for medical and health related services for people with low income in the United States providing free hea lth insurance to million s or maybe even billions of low income and disabled people. Medicaid provide a broad level of health insurance coverage, including doctor visits, hospital expenses, nursing home care, home health care. Medicaid also covers long-term care costs, both in a nursing home and at-home care. Prescription drugs are not covered by Medicaid but some people are eligible for Medicaid part D and what is Medicaid Part D you may ask well it is actually a separate policy you buy from a private insurer and it provides prescript ion drug coverage. How to sign up for Medicaid you can go down to your local welfare office or social security office or you can sign up online at Medicaid.gov where they give you more information on the policies and basic health care program, states resources, information on the affordable care act they have a variety of information and programs.
